Education has always been a top priority for independent jurist, Arthur Engoron and for this reason he continues to learn each day.
As a judge on the New York City Civil Court, which deals with minor claims and other low-stakes litigation, Engoron joined the court in 2003.
He was named an acting justice of the state’s trial court in 2013 and unsuccessfully campaigned for a permanent position in 2015.
Since 2020, when he was tasked with mediating disputes between Trump’s attorneys and James’ office on requests for evidence and the focus of inquiry.
Engoron has been involved in instances involving presidents for years.
Although New York requires judges of his level to retire when they are 76, his tenure doesn’t end until 2029.
Arthur attended the Columbia University in the 1960s. Engoron even got his law degree from New York University in 1979.
Prior to that he schooled at Wheatley School, a public high school in Old Westbury, New York. He then graduated in 1967.
