Mara Bayiates Stec of Dedham, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the young age of 52 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She was surrounded by her loving family. Christine is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 24 years, William A. Stec, her beautiful children, Alexis Mara and Dylan John.
Also survived by her parents, Andrew and Virginia Bayiates of Dedham, brothers John Bayiates of Dedham, and Edward and his wife Elisa of Needham. She was predeceased by her youngest brother, Thomas Bayiates. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Christine was a lifelong Dedham resident and a beloved and admired 4th grade teacher at Oakdale School where she was an inspiration and a beacon of learning for her many students.
She was admired by her family, friends, and community for her dedication and devotion to everything she did. If her time wasn’t spent in the classroom, you could find her at the hockey rink where she was always smiling and cheering everyone on.
Throughout her life, she never stopped dancing and stayed true to her motto of “Making Memories”.
She lived everyday on her terms even throughout her battle. She is truly irreplaceable and has left her mark on everyone who has been fortunate enough to know her.
