Courteney Cox was born on June 15, 1964 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. She attended Mount Vernon College in Washington D.C., but did not finish her architecture degree to pursue acting.
She first appeared in a music video for Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark. Early television work includes a starring role in the television series Misfits of Science.
She also appeared in films in the late 1980s, including Masters of the Universe and Cocoon: The Return.
In 1994, she gained widespread prominence when she landed the role of Monica Geller in the sitcom Friends, which lasted for 10 seasons.
