Under the assumption that Jason is a spy for the vampires after having captured Sookie and realizing that Jason is her brother, Steve orders Gabe to take Jason out into the woods to kill him. Jason tries to rationalize with Gabe, but when Gabe slut-shames Sookie, Jason gets angry and starts fighting back.

Realizing he made a mistake, and wanting to protect the werepanthers from having their secret exposed, Jason and Crystal tip off the Hotshot residents about a drug raid. In the process, Crystal’s half-brother and fiancé Felton Norris, who is a V-addict, kills Calvin and kidnaps Crystal at gunpoint. Jason, helpless in the situation, promises to abide by Crystal’s final request: he must take care of the other Hotshot residence in her absence.
Later that evening, Sarah finds Jason in the woods and shoots him with a paintball gun as revenge for supposedly being a traitor. Jason is at first confused, but when Sarah informs Jason that they have Sookie prisoner at the church, Jason turns on Sarah, takes her gun, and goes back to the church to rescue his sister.
However, Bill and Warlow take their fight to the house, where Warlow locks Jason, Andy, and Adilyn in the cellar and knocks out Violet. Warlow finds Sookie in the bathroom and is about to take Sookie away when Niall returns from the dark realm and pins Warlow—Jason, who has escaped thanks to Adilyn, then stakes Warlow.
As they prepare to attack, Jason gets into an argument with Andy about his behavior towards him, and Andy finally admits that he’s jealous of Jason because he thinks he’s had everything easy.
