William Bruce Rose, then 20 years old, and Sharon Elizabeth (née Lintner), then 16 years old and still in high school, gave birth to Axl Rose, the eldest child, in Lafayette, Indiana.
The pregnancy was unplanned, and his father has been described as “a troubled and charismatic local delinquent.”
Does Axl Rose have any children?
Axl Rose is not a parent. As an adult, he never saw his biological father; William Sr. Rose was killed in Marion, Illinois, in 1984, by a criminal acquaintance who was found guilty despite the fact that the body was never found. Rose didn’t find out about the murder for years.
When Rose was about two years old, his parents divorced, which led his father to kidnap and allegedly molest him before leaving Lafayette. His mother changed her son’s name to William Bruce Bailey after remarrying Stephen L. Bailey.
He has a half-brother named Stuart and a younger sister named Amy. Rose and his siblings were frequently beaten as young children. Rose believed Bailey to be his biological father until he was 17 years old.
