A cardiologist in Pensacola for more than 30 years, Dr. Doty specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult cardiovascular diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, with board certification in the areas of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Doty received his medical degree and training in internal medicine from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was Chief Fellow and an Indiana Heart Association Research Fellow. Before establishing Pensacola Cardiology in 2017, Dr. Doty practiced with Cardiology Consultants, where he served patients at Sacred Heart, Baptist, and other major hospitals of northwest Florida and South Alabama. He is honored to continue his medical practice at Pensacola Cardiology alongside experienced and well-respected support staff who share his patient-centered approach to care.

Dr. Doty has participated in clinical research throughout his career, serving as a Principle Investigator for 15 national and international medical research trials in the areas of acute myocardial infarction, anticoagulation methodologies, obesity, and cholesterol management. He is an established author and speaker in the fields of clinical cardiology and end-of-life care, and he is a founding board member of Project GRACE (now Empath Choices for Care), an organization dedicated to promoting advance care planning and quality end-of-life care for those will terminal illness. In 2011, Dr. Doty was awarded the Henry D. McIntosh Humanitarian Award by the American College of Cardiology for his contributions to improving end-of-life care.
