El Mago, Owner of Los Angeles Food Trucks, Fatally Shot in Willowbrook Incident

In a tragic turn of events, reports from Borderland Beat suggest that El Mago, a member of the Sinaloa Cartel and owner of a chain of Los Angeles-based food trucks and restaurants, was fatally shot in Willowbrook. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of November 23, leaving two individuals dead, including El Mago, and a third rushed to the hospital with injuries.

The shooting unfolded at approximately 8:20 a.m. in the 14200 block of Towne Avenue, near Rosecrans Avenue, as disclosed by NBC Los Angeles. Sheriff Lt. Omar Camacho stated that the motive behind the killing remains unknown but appeared to have occurred following a late-night party or gathering.

Law enforcement sources indicate that the victims were aged between 20 to 30, with no arrests made as of the writing of this article. Additionally, a description of the shooter has not been released to the public. Camacho emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation, stating, “It’s too early in the investigation to figure out if we have a possible suspect detained or witnesses that we still need to contact.”

The crime scene revealed several vehicles, including a black Cadillac Escalade, a Chevrolet, and a BMW Coupe. Substantial evidence, including shell casings from the shooting, was discovered at the location.

A journalist based in Mexico, known as @ioangrillo on X, linked El Mago’s death to the “arrest of El Nini in Mexico,” suggesting that those associated with El Nini are being targeted. However, this information has not been officially confirmed by law enforcement.

El Mago, whose original name is reported as either Eddie Escobedo or Eddie Hernandez according to Borderland Beat, operated in California and was associated with the Los Chapitos, specifically Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, the eldest son of notorious drug trafficker Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. Reports from the r/NarcoFootage subreddit indicate that El Mago held a prominent position as the head of the Los Chapitos in Los Angeles.
