A 29-year-old man from Leduc Elijah Holt has lost his life after losing control of the motorbike he was operating on Monday morning.
The unfortunate incident took place in a community located just south of Edmonton.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., law enforcement officials responded to a collision involving a motorbike and another vehicle on Sparrow Drive, located just north of 65 Avenue in a town approximately 30 km south of Edmonton.
According to a news release by the RCMP, the motorcyclist was travelling northbound on Sparrow Drive when he lost control of his bike and collided with a southbound vehicle. The news release was issued just before noon, after the scene had been cleared.
The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital following an incident. However, despite the efforts of medical professionals, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 32-year-old female, emerged from the incident unharmed.
For several hours, traffic was redirected away from the scene as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) conducted collision analysis.
The cause of the ongoing investigation is currently being examined by officers from Alberta RCMP Traffic-Leduc, who are receiving support from a collision analyst.
