According to an investigation by US Magazine, 96-year-old actor and iconic singer Harry Belafonte passed away on Tuesday, April 25

Congestive heart disease caused the iconic singer and actor Harry Belafonte to die at the age of 96.

He became well-known in the 1950s because to tracks with Caribbean flavor including “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)” and “Jamaica Farewell.” Belafonte, who is most renowned for his calypso music, also wowed crowds with his performances of blues, folk tunes, and American favorites.

In addition, Belafonte was an advocate for civil rights and a close friend of the Kings. He supported the battle against HIV/AIDS and led a campaign against apartheid in South Africa. Belafonte leaves behind a wife, four biological children, two adopted children, and several grandchildren.
