The death of Adrian Dingle, a Clemons University alumnus and American football player from Holly Hill, Florida, was announced this morning, November 9, 2022. The cause of death is currently unknown.

American football defensive tackle Adrian Kennell Dingle (June 25, 1977 – November 8, 2022). In San Diego, he spent five years on the field with the Chargers (2000–2005).

Dingle attended Roberts High School, located in the South Carolina town of Holly Hill. His senior year at Clemson University, he recorded 10.5 sacks, shattering the previous mark by a wide margin. With 45 tackles for a loss, he is sixth all-time and has the third-most sacks in school history, despite only playing four years.

Dingle was picked up by the Chicago Bears in the 1999 NFL Draft’s fifth round. Due to injuries, Dingle sat out the entirety of the 1999 campaign.

In 2003, he made 37 tackles and six sacks while starting 15 of 16 games. In total, he had 78 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 interception throughout his career. His cousin was Vontrell Jamison, a former defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys.

A 45-year-old Dingle passed away on November 8, 2022, in Holly Hill, South Carolina.
