Written by award-winning author Mick Herron, Slow Horses, the first book in Herron’s Slough House thriller series, has been adapted for the small screen by Apple TV+.
There are currently seven books in the Slough House series, with an eighth coming out on 10th May 2022. The first season of Slow Horses is based on the first book in the series, while a second season based on the second book, Dead Lions, is also in the works. Slow Horses by Mick Herron is the first in the Slough House series, and a more different and intriguing plot I haven’t read in awhile. After an explosive start, it settled into a slow and plodding plot, with twists, conspiracy theories, blame cast on others and more. Slow Horses is definitely worth the read and I’m looking forward to book #2.

Original network. Apple TV+. Slow Horses is an upcoming spy thriller television series based on the novel of the same name by Mick Herron that is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ .
The series was given a straight to series order by Apple TV+ in October 2019, with Gary Oldman announced to star. The cast was rounded out in December 2020 with the additions of Olivia Cooke, Jonathan Pryce, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jack Lowden. The show will consist of two sets of six episodes, with conflicting reports as to whether this means two six-episode seasons, or one season in two parts. The first six episodes are reportedly based on Mick Herron ‘s first book, Slow Horses, with the following six episodes based on the sequel, Dead Lions.
