Ons Jabeur is a professional tennis player from Tunisia. The Women’s Tennis Association placed her as high as world No. 2 on June 27, 2022. Jabeur is Tunisia’s current No. 1 player and the highest-ranked African and Arab tennis player in WTA and ATP history.

Her mother introduced Jabeur to tennis when she was three years old. She reached the French Open junior major girls’ singles finals in 2010 and 2011, winning the latter and becoming the first Arab to do so since 1964. After nearly a decade of mostly participating at the ITF level, Jabeur began competing more consistently on the WTA Tour in 2017. In 2019, she was named Arab Woman of the Year.
Jabeur became the first African or Arab woman to reach a major quarterfinal at the 2020 Australian Open, a record she replicated at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. At the 2021 Birmingham Classic, she became the first African or Arab woman to win a WTA Tour event.
