Jim Leonard Metzger, a popular radio host for K95 who was known as “K95’s Catfish” in Central Virginia, passed away on Monday.
He was 79.
Jim worked as a radio host in Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania before moving to Central Virginia. In Central Virginia, he was best known for his appearances on the Catfish and Lori Morning Program.
According to Jim’s obituary, “he enjoyed meeting and hearing from all K-95 listeners, and loved the fact that people still recognized his voice after his retirement,” he spent time on the radio in Central Virginia.
On Tuesday afternoon, K95 posted a link to his obituary on their Facebook page along with the accompanying statement.
We’re regretful to have to deliver such tragic news. Kindly remember him and his family in your prayers. K95 will always feature catfish! He will always be etched in our memories, not just this afternoon.
On Friday at 3 p.m., J.T. Morriss & Son – Chester Chapel will host a memorial service.
