Kate Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, USA on April 19, 1979. She is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson.
Her family hoped that she would attend New York University but she opted getting in the world of professional acting first. She made her big-screen debut the 1998 film Dessert Blue.
Hudson’s biggest break was landing the role of Penny Lane in Almost Famous, which earned her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. The movie was hailed by movie critic Roger Ebert as the best film of the year.
