New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS) The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday supported the execution of the Kochi Metro Rail Project Phase-II from the JLN Stadium to Infopark by means of Kakkanad, a stretch of 11.17 km with 11 stations, at an expense of Rs 1,957.05 crore.
The public authority said that the preliminary works for Phase-II, including enlarging of the Seaport Airport Road, are advancing great.
The Phase-I An of the venture from Aluva to Petta, covering a stretch of 25.6 km with 22 stations at an expected expense of Rs 5,181.79 crore, is finished at this point. The undertaking is being executed as a state area project. As of now, all development exercises connected with the task are finished and it is prepared for introduction.
The Phase-I B of the venture of 1.2 km from SN Junction to Thripunithura Terminal is under development as a state area project.
Kochi is the most thickly populated city in Kerala and is important for a lengthy metropolitan district, which is the biggest metropolitan agglomeration in the state.
