The death of a 7-year-old kid, who was discovered dead at a home in downtown Toledo on Friday morning, is being investigated by police as a homicide.

At at 7:31 in the morning, crews were called to the 1700 block of Freeman Street in reference to a deceased person. Police in Toledo say that when they arrived, they discovered Kristopher Snyder, age 7, dead. The death seemed to be a homicide caused by neglect, according to the police.

Snyder will have an autopsy done by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

In this case, police did not identify any suspects or make any arrests.

Snyder’s death, pending the Coroner’s decision, makes him the eighth kid and fifteenth total victim of a homicide in Toledo in 2023.
