Celebrating the life of Maci Wyan

In Lexington, the death of 17-year-old Maci Wyan has left many people devastated.

A junior at Lafayette High School was killed Friday when her car went off the road and into the Kentucky River.

Images like these can only begin to do justice to the full scope of what made Wyan unique in the eyes of her loved ones.

“Every single person she met with had a profound effect on their lives. The fact that she was so honest was truly remarkable “Everlee Frustaci and T’Laya Bates, two of their closest pals, said this.

They remembered the disbelieving moment they heard about Wyan’s death.

Frustaci remarked, “We sat there and watched the divers go in and try to find her and pull the car out.”

T’Laya Bates, whose personality was the real draw that attracted over 40k followers to her social media profiles, says her smile was just a bonus.

“I’ve said this many times before, I’ve never, I can’t think of anything bad about her,” Bates said.

The Frederick Douglass High School Student Council is organizing a prayer vigil.
