Morgan Bauer departed Aberdeen, South Dakota, her hometown, on February 12th, 2016. She was driven to Minneapolis, Minnesota, by a friend, where she boarded a plane for Atlanta, Georgia.
Morgan spent her first night in Atlanta at the home of a man she had met online via Craigslist.
In exchange for housing until she got employment, she had agreed to provide housework for the man. On her second day in Atlanta, those plans fell through, and Morgan was ordered to leave.
Morgan spent the following few days shifting between motels while performing as an exotic dancer at a strip club in Gainesville, Georgia.
Morgan applied for a position at the strip restaurant Tease on February 25, 2016.
