Norman Reynolds is a British production designer and director best known for his work on the original Star Wars trilogy and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Norman was born on March 26, 1934, and passed away on April 6, 2023.

Beginning his career on March 26, 1934, British production designer and art director Norman Reynolds contributed to a number of motion pictures. Beginning in the early 1960s, he worked as a draughtsman and art director on a number of movies before transitioning to production designer in the middle of the 1970s.

Reynolds is most recognized for his work on the first three Star Wars films as a production designer. In order to establish the Star Wars universe’s look and feel, he collaborated closely with filmmaker George Lucas, building many of the movie’s iconic sets and objects, such as the Death Star, the Millennium Falcon, and the lightsabers.

In addition to Star Wars, Reynolds has contributed to a number of well-known films, including Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Superman.
