Sister of Madison murder victim in Sunday’s murder-suicide confirms her sister’s name is Jessica Wray.
After the tragic loss of Jessica’s parents on Sunday, a GoFundMe page has been established for her children.
The police say that after Jessica’s husband attacked her at their west side house, he walked in front of a semi on the highway and committed suicide.

According to the Dane County Medical Examiner’s office, the murdered woman was 45-year-old Jessica Wray. An autopsy conducted by the medical examiner’s office revealed that she died from blunt force trauma and stab wounds, both consistent with homicidal violence.
The highway fatality has been officially identified as Jason Wray, and the medical examiner has confirmed that his death was a result of his injuries sustained in the collision.
Emily Kumlien, the UW Health press secretary, verified for 27 News that both Jessica and Jason worked for UW Health.
Kumlien issued a statement reading, “Our sympathies are with the family and friends experiencing this awful loss and we are grieved by the news of this unspeakable catastrophe.” When someone on our team or among our providers experiences loss, they may count on our continued commitment to care for their emotional needs. We ask that everyone give the bereaved family their space and consider contributing to the family’s money if they are able.
Funeral expenses and other related costs for the kids will be covered by the funds raised on GoFundMe.
