Funeral arrangements for a Penn Hills paramedic who died in an ambulance crash have been announced.

The funeral arrangements for the Penn Hills paramedic who died in an ambulance crash in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood have been revealed.

Nick Theofilis was operating a Penn Hills ambulance on Sunday evening when it collided with another car in Shadyside. Theofilis was in cardiac arrest when Pittsburgh police arrived, and he died at the hospital.

Visitation will be held at the William F. Gross Funeral Home Ltd., 11735 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 (Penn Hills), Allegheny County, on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 2 to 8 p.m., followed by a multi-agency memorial ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, a prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Susanna Church-Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, situated at 200 Stotler Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15235 (Penn Hills), at 11 a.m.

All EMS and fire units attending the funeral home on Frankstown Road should approach from the east.

Two additional people were hurt in the crash. Both are anticipated to live.
