Shenae Grimes was born on October 24, 1989 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She began her career as a recurring character in Degrassi: The Next Generation until she became its lead character in 2006, playing the role of Darcy Edwards.
In 2008, she left the series and moved to America after being cast as Annie Wilson in 90210. She also appeared in the films Picture This and True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet in the same year.
She has since appeared in other films, including The Cross Road, Dead Like Me: Life After Death, Scream 4, Empire State and Sugar.
