A substitute English teacher in Florida was detained after allegedly confessing to many instances of unprotected sex with a juvenile student, according to law enforcement officials.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported that Ayanna Davis, 20, was arrested on Friday and charged with four charges of sexual battery by a caretaker and one count of offenses against students by an authority figure.
The investigation into Davis, according to the sheriff’s office, started on December 3 when officials became aware of the alleged existence of a video depicting Davis engaging in sexual activity with the victim, who police claim is 16 or younger.
According to reports, a student at LHS informed Lakeland Police Department School Resource officers that the video had been uploaded on Snapchat and that a sizable group of football team members at LHS had all viewed it together.
When it was discovered that Davis resided outside of Lakeland’s city borders, detectives with the Lakeland Police Department asked for the help of Polk County deputies.
The alleged victim, whose name is being withheld due to their age, is reported to have admitted to having several sex sessions with Davis, according to the sheriff’s office.
When Davis was questioned, it was claimed that she acknowledged having intercourse with the student at least four times—twice at her home and once at his. The victim’s claims, according to the sheriff’s office, corroborated Davis’s admission.
