Adrian Paul Aispuro – The Suspect’s Identity
Adrian Paul Aispuro, a 44-year-old man, has been identified as the suspect in this incident. He is currently in custody in Los Angeles, facing a felony charge for concealing a weapon. Aispuro was released on $35,000 bail. During the Friday night event, a private security team interacted with Aispuro. Kennedy’s campaign issued a statement on Saturday, revealing that Aispuro, while pretending to be a member of the candidate’s security detail, urgently sought access to Kennedy.
In their statement, the Kennedy campaign noted, “The security imposter, who wore sunglasses, appeared to have premeditated his actions, as he carried what looked like a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and a federal ID on a belt clip. The Kennedy campaign is cooperating with law enforcement authorities and seeks further information.”
Kennedy also addressed the incident on social media shortly after the event, explaining that the man had attempted to approach him while he was addressing the crowd at the Wilshire Ebell Theater.
In a tweet, Kennedy stated, “The individual, equipped with two loaded pistols in shoulder holsters and spare ammunition magazines, was found with a U.S. Marshal badge on a lanyard and a federal ID on a belt clip. He identified himself as a member of my security detail.”
