In a shocking turn of events, a prominent YouTube celebrity chef has been arrested in Thailand amidst allegations of murder. The accused, Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, is facing grim accusations from authorities surrounding the brutal murder of his former partner, Edwin Arrieta Arteaga.
According to investigators, the disturbing incident unfolded on the picturesque island of Koh Phangnan in Thailand. The 29-year-old social media influencer, boasting 12,400 followers, had been residing on the island since July 31, ostensibly to enjoy a vacation and attend a Full Moon Party.
Tragically, the holiday took a sinister turn, leading to a horrifying end for Edwin Arrieta Arteaga. Police sources suggest that a bitter dispute over “sex and money” escalated between the couple, ultimately resulting in an alleged premeditated murder.
According to law enforcement officials, Daniel Sancho Bronchalo allegedly killed his plastic surgery colleague before gruesomely dismembering the body into 14 pieces. Surprisingly, on August 3, spectators at a trash dump reportedly found fragments of Edwin’s remains, including his hips and thighs.
A kayak and other spots around the island may have been used by Daniel to dispose of the body at sea in an effort to hide the horrible murder, according to authorities. Divers found other body pieces, including the victim’s skull and hands, as a result of later examinations.
Suspicions were heightened by Daniel’s attempt to change the couple’s hotel reservation timeline. He initially reserved a hotel room for the period of July 31 to August 3 but afterwards switched to a different place far away from their original booking.
Police discovered purchases made by the accused previous to the incident, including knives, plastic bags, and cleaning materials from convenience stores on the island, which led to some unsettling disclosures.
Daniel Sancho Bronchalo is being held in jail and placed on suicide watch as the inquiry continues. On Monday, August 7, he is scheduled to appear in court in Thailand to answer to allegations of “premeditated murder and secretly moving or destroying a corpse to conceal a death or the cause of death.”
