Jacob Lee-Nicholas Sullenger, born December 23, 1995, is known professionally as JAWNY. He previously went by the name Johnny Utah and is a singer, songwriter, and producer.
He gained his first recognition after the release of his first single Honeypie in 2019. A year later in 2020, he was signed to Interscope Records.
JAWNY was born and raised in the San Francisco Area and first learned to play the guitar at the age of 6. He attended college for a while to study nursing, however, he dropped out to pursue music.
When he was 20, he moved to Philadelphia where he began making music under the name Johnny Utah. The name was a reference to Keanu Reeves’ character in the 1991 film Point Break. After he signed to Interscope Records, he changed his name to JAWNY.
