The body of missing seven-year-old Athena Strand was discovered in Wise County, Texas sheriff Lane Akin revealed at a press conference on Friday evening.
Additionally, Sheriff Wise disclosed that a FedEx driver had been detained in connection with the abduction and slaying of Athena Strand.

Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, was identified as the FedEx driver by police. He is being held in the Wise County Jail on suspicion of capital murder and kidnapping.

According to reports, Lake Worth resident Tanner Horner confessed to kidnapping and killing Athena.

Police stated that interviews and digital evidence indicate the young child did not survive more than an hour after being abducted.

According to Akin, Tanner Lynn Horner is the only person who officials believe to be guilty for the crime.
He was not related to or associated with the family in any way.
